On July 12, 2007, SolutionsIQ announced that Brent Barton has been promoted to chief technology officer for the company. As chief technology officer, Barton will play a key leadership role in implementing the strategic vision of SolutionsIQ as an Agile company while maintaining his active status as a international leader in Agile consulting. Barton will continue to build SolutionsIQ's premium Agile development services and initiatives, while addressing such key issues as delivering greater value to customers.

Barton brings more than fifteen years of technical experience as a consultant and mentor to his new role as chief technology officer. He is a Certified Scrum Trainer, Agile coach and co-author of Agile EVM, a landmark research paper which explicitly details the benefits of Agile methodologies. Graduating from San Jose State with a degree in Mathematics and a focus on Computer Science, Barton became certified in Scrum in 2003 and as a Scrum Trainer in 2005. He serves as co-chair of the Scrum Alliance Scrum Trainers Certifying Committee and has already trained over 500 people in Scrum.
