Canola
From WikiCover
The word Canola comes from Canadian oil, low acid.
Television food star Ming Tsai is promoting canola for CanolaInfo.
"Canola oil has the lowest amount of saturated fat of any common culinary oil and zero trans fat and cholesterol," Tsai says. "I prefer it not only for health reasons but because of its clean, neutral taste. It doesn't interfere with food, allowing spices, herbs and flavors in dishes to shine."
As a spin-off from his public television show and cookbook Simply Ming, Tsai will feature three "master recipes" containing canola oil as a base for several food applications.
"Canola oil is extremely versatile," Tsai notes. "Its light texture and high heat tolerance make it an ideal kitchen staple. Canola oil can be used for stir-frying, sauteing, baking and deep-frying as well as in marinades, salad dressings and sauces."
