Drambuie

On August 7, 2007, Drambuie liqueur announced a nationwide search for teams to take part in the ultimate adventure: an all expenses paid race across Scotland that will take place in April 2008. The Drambuie Pursuit is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that retraces the legendary origins of Drambuie liqueur in 1745, when a zealous Scottish Prince fled from captivity.

The Drambuie Pursuit event will see fifteen teams of four adults racing each other over one hundred miles of breathtaking highland terrain. Teams that have what it takes will compete in speedboat and dirt buggy races, hill climbing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, biking, and other activities as they race from the Isle of Skye to the finish line in historic Inverness.

Drambuie began its famed history more than 260 years ago as a custom-made spirit for Scotland's Bonnie Prince Charlie. Defeated in his attempts to regain the British throne, the prince took flight across the Scottish Highlands, rewarding his loyal followers with the secret recipe for Drambuie as a token of thanks, before securing safe passage to France.
