Announced August 20, 2007, E. Alex Hoffman has joined Alpha Natural Resources as director of corporate development.

E. Alex Hoffman most recently served as senior associate director for PNC Capital Markets LLC where he served in an advisory role on M&A transactions in the coal sector. Prior experience includes working in the investment banking division of Raymond James & Associates, Inc.

Alex Hoffman received his BA in history from Yale University and his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
