FTfm is a supplement to the Financial Times for the global fund management industry. Launched in the UK in January 2002, FTfm expanded into Asia in October 2005 and is now going global by publishing in the United States on the first Monday of every month, beginning October 1, 2007.

In addition to monthly distribution of the tabloid-size FTfm supplement, the FT will publish three related special reports to be distributed inside FTfm throughout the year. These reports will take an in-depth look at areas such as asset servicing, hedge funds, derivatives, index investing, liability driven investment, and exchange traded funds. These reports will address the following issues:

  • business strategies for asset managers on how to deal with the changing environment;
  • portfolio management techniques being employed in pursuit of competitive performance;
  • developments in corporate governance and the implications and effects of new regulations;
  • alternative assets increasingly being used across the US and Europe;
  • new products being developed to meet customer needs, such as longevity bonds, fundamental indices, pooled swaps funds or absolute return vehicles;
  • new approaches to investing for liability-driven institutions, such as insurance companies and pension funds; and
  • new markets opening up to fund managers in Eastern Europe, Russia, China and India.
