Medium Extended Air Defense System
From WikiCover
MEADS stands for Medium Extended Air Defense System.
MEADS is a transatlantic cooperative effort between the United States, Germany and Italy to develop an air and missile defense system that is tactically mobile and transportable. It is designed to replace Patriot systems in the US and Germany as well as the Nike Hercules system in Italy. It will protect ground forces and fixed installations against attack by current and next-generation airborne threats, such as aircraft, missiles and unmanned air vehicles. The total system is designed for rapid airlift deployment and ground mobility.
Lockheed Martin is responsible for the new truck-mounted surveillance radar for MEADS and has selected SprayCool technology to cool electronics in the radar platform.
