On August 23, 2007, Automated Vending Technologies announced that it has signed an agreement with Green Eye Media to install AVT's custom designed 7" LCD PC and patent pending digital signage software into two thousand pay phones from San Diego to San Francisco as part of a pilot program. With the sale of digital advertisements through the installation of the software, both companies are looking for significant revenue increases to be generated through this unique program.
"Each pay phone will be capable of sequencing up to ten or more digital advertisements, averaging one hundred dollars or more per ad, and generating income that we believe will be substantial," said Tommy Buzbee of AVT. "We believe this is a remarkable achievement and an enormous step forward for our company."
The program capitalize upon the technology supplied from AVT. Advertising media will be transmitted over a Virtual Private Network (VPN) structure similar to AVT's VPN network. Local and national companies will be able to place their ads or brands over a network of existing payphones in key locations retrofitted with the AVT's 7" LCD PC.
