On August 31, 2007, Stevens Urethane announced the launch of their new Photovoltaic (PV) Encapsulant Product line (Encapsolar). The company will introduce the product line at the 22nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition to be held in Milan, Italy, September 3-6, 2007.

Stevens Urethane president Chuck Tutterow said: "We are excited to introduce a new line of encapsulant films into the rapidly growing photovoltaic solar energy market. Over the last year, we have been developing and testing new formulations for the solar energy market that have unique stabilization chemistries, and we are excited to bring the Encapsolar product line of TPU and EVA films to market."

"We have developed a robust EVA-based encapsulant that provides a PV module with a maximum degree of long term weathering and UV protection. The product's cure rate kinetics is formulated to provide high lamination throughput while maintaining its dimensional integrity through the PV module fabrication process."
