Synchronica
From WikiCover
Synchronica develops and markets synchronization and device management solutions for mobile operators, device manufacturers, and enterprises. Its product portfolio ranges from data synchronization (DS) to device management (DM) and firmware update over-the-air (FOTA). Products include the mobile device management suite Mobile Manager and the push email and synchronization solution Mobile Gateway.
Synchronica's Mobile Gateway is a carrier-grade middleware solution providing push email and synchronization services. Based on the open industry standards SyncML and IMAP, Mobile Gateway is compatible with a wide range of mobile devices from leading device manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and Apple without requiring additional client software to be installed on the device or behind the firewall. Synchronica offers Mobile Gateway to operators, device manufacturers, and enterprises, enabling their mobile users to send and receive email from consumer mailboxes (AOL, Gmail, and others), as well as synchronize their calendar and contact data with business systems (Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and Sun Java System Communications Suite).
On August 20, 2007, Synchronica announced that Sun Microsystems has agreed to license Synchronica's synchronization and client provisioning technology for Sun's communication products. As part of the agreement, Sun plans to incorporate key components of Synchronica's Mobile Gateway for industry-standard wireless synchronization of contacts, calendars, tasks, and other enterprise data to Sun Java System Communications Suite and Sun Java System Application Platform Suite.
